Face Value Series: Anger

The piece entitled “Anger” is a demonstration of accumulated indignation. It serves to show what is on the other side of one’s tipping point. In its essence it refers to how portraits are often used to both document and disseminate situations where one or a group of people has been treated unjustly, or find themselves in positions of inequality. In it she screams. Both as a symbol of exasperation and catharsis - representing any and every time the artist has felt the emotion at hand.

Anger

All I hear is pain.

All I feel are screams.

Loud knives prickling at my soul.

Voices throbbing

Hate swarming like flies.

Yet everyone denies

They try to rule our lives.

Hostage no longer.

Obedient no longer.

Foolish no longer.

Feel. My. Wrath.
